Dash has his very first competitive event tomorrow, a UKC Weight Pull trial. I am a little but nervous, especially given our recent challenges. But in the spirit of practicing what I preach, my goal tomorrow isn’t ribbons. What I want from the trial is teamwork.

The dog that I thought could never compete has a UKC performance listing. His registered name, Wynkyn’s Dashing Young Man, was 8 years in the making. Even daring to enter the trial means we have already come so far.

Rest up, big man. Tomorrow we have a game to play and I am so proud to have you on my team.
